HHhHA fascinating account of the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich; the Butcher of Prague, Himmler's right hand man, head of the Nazi's SD (intelligence agency) and key architect of the Final Solution. An historical novel? A historical account? A novel? The historian author takes regular breaks from the story to explain elements of his research, his personal connection to the geographical locations, discuss what he thinks of the efforts of others to document this historical episode, and his constant struggle to relate the facts without the embellishment of any fictitious details that might turn his history into a novel.

Excellent. Very interesting approach to raise the problematic issues of relating an accurate history while staying true to the people involved. Even relatively simple details (eg was the Mercedes black or green?) result in the author having to make tricky decisions. HHhH is Himmlers Hirn hei├čt Heydrich. Himmler's brain is called Heydrich. This was a Christmas gift from Mum and Dad.
