The Girl who Drank the MoonXan is a friendly witch living deep in the forest. Each year the people of the nearby city sacrifice a child to the witch, not knowing that in fact the witch rescues the babies and sends them to loving families on the other side of the forest. One year she allows baby Luna to drink magical moonlight and Luna begins to develop magical powers as she grows up, just as Xan feels her own power fading. But who is the creature who thrives on the misery generated by the constant sacrifices? And why is the volcano under the forest become more troublesome?

Fabulous story, lovely characters, especially enjoyed the swamp monster and the Perfectly Tiny Dragon. One of Molly's, who now claims Kelly Barnhill as her favourite author.
