 | The Girl of Ink and Stars | Set on a mysterious island a tribe(?) is governed by a relatively benign-seeming autocrat. However people occasionally disappear, especially if they venture into the unmapped half of the island where mythical beasts are said to roam. Hmmm, quite good. Story OK, writing OK, didn't add up to great though. Still, it won lots of awards so maybe I am missing something.
