 | So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish | The Fourth book in the trilogy finds Arthur Dent back on Earth, which seems to have been resurrected after its apparent destruction by the Vogon Constructor fleet. Here he meets the lovely Fenchurch with whom he goes flying at night while listening to Dire Straits on walkmen. Eventually they bump into Ford Prefect again who helps them to hitch a final ride on a spaceship to go and view God's final message to his creation.

Yeah! Funny! Dated but still funny, but if you're the right age (eg 33) then always funny, even the bits about digital watches. Sad to say, I am sitting here now wearing an analogue watch (shame), but I AM listening to Dire Straits! Hooray for Marvin the Paranoid Android!
