Small Bomb at DimperleyCorporal Valentine Vere-Thissett is de-mobbed after WW2 and returns to his family home, the vast but falling-down Dimperley House. His older brother was killed in the war, so he finds himself now Sir Valentine, responsible for the house, estate and everyone who lives there. With no cash, but with the help of Zena, a London evacuee still living at the house with her young child, he finds innovative solutions to solve his family's problems.

Fantastic. Really good story, really well written. Lissa Evans of course, also wrote Wed Wabbit, a family favourite from a few years ago.
