The Lovely Bones
Young girl is raped and murdered but observes from heaven as her family and friends and murderer get on with their lives.
Jolly good, very moving in places. Winner of Richard and Judy award, bought at East Midlands airport to read on the way to Holland.

The Almost Moon
Some woman kills her elderly incontinent mother, and then agonises about it a bit. Not much though, as almost the first thing she does is go and sleep with her best friend's son. Then her ex-husband turns up and they faff around a bit, mostly feeling sorry for themselves.
Really quite dull, you only keep reading to see what happens. And guess what? I've forgotten already.
