Red Mars
Mankind is off to colonise Mars, as the first 100 scientists argumentatively head off on the long voyage. Lots of sci-fi technology, politics, interesting Mars weather (especially after the terra-forming begins) and even a longevity treatment.
Quite good - although got a bit tedious in places.
