In Search of Kazakhstan
Christopher gets chatting to a fat American on a plane who tells him that apples were invented in Kazakhstan and so he decides to go and explore the country for himself, so off he goes on various trips and visits everywhere, much of it with the President!
Great, really well written and full of fascinating facts, people and anecdotes. He clearly loves Kazakhstan, and paints modern Kazakhstan fairly glowingly as a successful new nation, but you also get a lot of interesting history and development stuff too.
