A story of intertwining lives in India, following the fortunes of two tailors who leave their village and attempt to make their way in the big city.
Great! Really lovely book, taking you from hope to despair and back again.

Family Matters
Middle-class family in Bombay, with two small children, gets disrupted when elderly father comes to stay, kicked out of home by his other step-children when they can't cope with caring for him after he breaks an ankle.
Very good, funny in places, and quite moving.
