Moneyball
How would you successfully run a major league baseball team without a massive budget? Buy players based on their historical performance, and get some geeks to develop more and more statistics, instead of relying on scouts.
Quite interesting, although a glossary for non-baseball followers would have been useful.

The Big Short
A detailed explanation of the 2006(ish?) financial crash driven by the sub-prime mortgage crisis.
Good, lots of details lots of weird personalities. Complicated though, not sure I quite understand it still, eg credit default swaps etc.
