Not Forgetting the Whale
A brainy financial analyst who works for a profiteering bank realises he has written a computer programme that has predicted the breakdown of society. He leaves the bank and escapes to a remote Cornish fishing village to ride out the coming storm. Once there he realises that he must do his best to help the community that has welcomed him in to survive the crisis.
Jolly good, great story, plot somewhat farfetched but believable none-the-less.

The Notable Brain of Maximilian Ponder
Maximilian Ponder is a strange chap who attempts to shut himself off from the world and catalogue on paper the entire contents of his brain. He is aided in this task by his childhood friend Adam Last who takes care of him and tries to minimise exposure to anything current or recent (as this would then also require cataloging and it's a big enough job as it is). Eventually Adam is faced with a final task more challenging than anything he has been asked to do before.
Very entertaining, lots on the nature of memories and some flashbacks to interesting growing up stories for Max and Adam.
