Tom Jones
Baby Tom is discovered in Mr Allworthy's bed and is brought up as his son, but despite being basically good can't help himself being led astray somewhat by a series of women, in spite of being in love with the out-of-reach Sophie Western, as her dad wants her to marry Mr Blifel, Allworthy's rather nasty and sneaky nephew. But what if Allworthy has more nephews than he thought?
Not bad, although rather long-winded in many places, but at least he warns you about those bits. I read this because Rachel on hols in Croatia was claiming that the food-seduction scene (in the film) was great. Disappointing, I guess I'll have to get the DVD next.
