Six suspects for the murder of Vicky Rai, a nasty, rich politician's son who has himself killed (amongst others) an innocent bar-girl who stood up to him. But when he corruptly escapes the murder charge, the six suspects converge on him, seeking their own justice and/or revenge.

Great start and middle but faded off at the end I thought, into confusion. Swarup wrote Q&A too, which became Slum Dog Millionaire.
