In 1999 a joint US-British team climbed Everest with the primary goal of finding out more information about Mallory and Irvine's 1924 summit bid - did they make it to the top and die on the way down? Or did they never reach the top?

Really good. some excellent history of the discovery and early attempts on Everest and all the detail possible on the ill-fated 1924 attempt. One of the books from Peter M's storage unit.
