Malcolm, journalist with the New Yorker, presents a selection of chapters based on articles he has written for various publications. His overall theme is about getting inside the minds of people who are successful.

Really quite good. Some interesting bits on breast cancer (diagnosis of, using mammography) and solving the problems of homelessness etc. JEJ and Damian also mentioned they had read some Gladwell - although not this one.

Discussion of how famous, or talented people have risen to the top - and how this might well be driven more by hard work and good luck than anything else.

Interesting stuff, especially the bit about how school start dates affect kids' performance.

The story of how the USA (and Britain a little bit) developed different approaches to bombing during WW2. Precision vs. area.

Very interesting, although some of the reviews refer to how he tends to over-simplfy facts sometimes to make his point.
