Young Kiwi signs up for the Air Force towards the end of WW2 and travels to UK where he becomes the bomb-aimer of F Fox, a Lancaster bomber. He flies a few missions, meets a nice girl, and then has to go on a terrifying daylight raid over Germany...

Jolly good show chaps, wizard. Apart from the over simplification of national stereotypes this was pretty good. Kids book, so never going to have the same impact as Len Deighton's Bomber, which is surely the best in the genre?
