A young girl in a small village is raped and murdered. A local woman living with her daughter subsequently goes a bit nuts, but then she also has a horrible husband who lives in London with his mistress and only visits when he absolutely has to and keeps trying to shove responsibility for his family off onto the local neighbours.

Odd, bleak, sad.
