Cutting for Stone
A pair of twins is born in Addis Ababa, but their mother dies in childbirth. The father is a doctor, present at the traumatic birth/death, and he disappears out of their lives. The boys grow up, wondering.
Quite good, but it felt a little sticky and I got bogged down. The drama seemed to go on for too long somehow, I wanted the story to get moving. Didn't quite finish it, in spite of it being highly recommended by Helen A.
