Recipe Details

• 1.5 cups plain flour
• 1 cup caster sugar
• 2 level tsps baking powder
• 2 tbsps cocoa
• 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
• 1 tsp vanilla essence
• 1 tbsp vinegar
• 5 tbsp sunflower oil
• 1 cup warm water

Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and line 2 8 inch cake tins. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix. Make 3 hollows.

Into each of the hollows place one of the following; oil, vinegar, vanilla essence.

Pour 1 cup of warm water into the mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until well mixed.

Pour mixture into the 2 cake tins and bake at 180C for approximately 15 minutes.

Place on a wire rack to cool.

Ice as desired.
