Cottage Pie (Slightly low fat version)

Serves: 4

Couldn't find canned lentils so used 250g dried (after soaking them etc)

Heat the oil, gently fry the onion and add some herbs and the carrots. When the veggies start to brown add the mince and fry until no longer pink. Stir in the flour and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, tomato puree, stock, lentils and worcester sauce. Season with pepper and then simmer for 45 minutes.

Boil all the potatoes together until tender. Mash them with the creme fraiche and the milk.

Spoon the meat/lentil mixture into a big dish, and top with the mash. Use a fork to make a ridged pattern on top. Sprinkle some grated cheese on top.

Cook in the oven at 200C (180C fan) for 20-25 minutes. Brown the topping under the grill if necessary.
