The Machine-Gunners | Chas McGill, school boy, is an avid collector of war souvenirs, mostly fragments of shell cases, but occasionally something better comes along. But even he never expected to get his hands on the machine gun from a downed German bomber. Together with his motley crew of friends, thrust together by circumstance, he prepares to take on the might of the German forces. | |

Great story with fabulous characters, I read this many times as a kid. I remembered most of it but had the details of the fight between Chas and Boddser wrong.
