![]() | Dune | Paul Atreides and his family are sent to govern the desert planet Arrakis, source of all the galaxy's precious spice, vital for the navigation of interstellar space and a highly addictive drug. Feuding nobility, a manipulative galactic emperor and a rebellious indigenous population with a mythical culture of their own add to the fun. And giant killer sandworms of course. |

This book seemed much better the first time I read it many years ago. Still pretty good, although I remember getting a bit bored of the desert culture bits first time around too. But lots of good intrigue, treachery and secret weapons.
