	The Alteration	A young talented choir boy is subject to the whim of his elders and betters who decide he should be castrated to preserve his incredible singing talent into adulthood. Set in an imaginary world where history has resulted in the whole of Europe becoming Catholic under a Yorkshire Pope, the kid has to decide whether all he has heard about the joys of sex are worth giving up for his singing career, and the glory of god.

Good. Lots of references to classical cultural things, lots of which I don't get being a bit of a cultural ignoramus, but still a good story anyway. Good 'twist' at the end! (He he he)
