![]() | Children of Time | Humanity in the far future is busy terraforming exo-planets, but back on earth war breaks out provoked by anti-technologists. Terraforming is sabotaged and at one planet, the sole-surviving scientist ends up accidentally innoculating a race of spiders with a grow-faster/bigger/smarter serum. The spiders evolve over millenia, then a ship-load of humans arrive, refugees from a dead Earth. Everyone struggles to survive. | Excellent, really good story, a bit of classic sci-fi. Two more in the series. |

![]() | Children of Ruin | This was a bit complicated. Some humans had been out terraforming in a previous epoch, and discovered some alien life and accidentally disturbed it. Then some more humans came along, together with the now friendly spider civilisation and had to try and sort out the mess. And the original aliens were a tad more advanced than everybody thought. | Yep, quite entertaing. Children of Memory is the third and final one in the series... |
