That Old Ace in the Hole
Bob Dollar is a scout for a big hog farm consortium, searching for land to build the next hog farm in the Texas Panhandle. But the locals aren't so keen, and prefer their more traditional ways of exploiting the delicate land and environment. Please note that Global Pork Rind's company policy prohibits site scouts from entering operational units.
Pretty good, read it straight through in a couple of days.

Close Range
Short stories of weird people in Wyoming doing (mostly) rather nasty things to each other or having hopeless love-lives. Often both at the same time. Includes Brokeback Mountain.
Good, if a little repetitive after a while.
