The Dinner
The story plays out over the course of one dinner for two couples in an Amsterdam restaurant. Their teenage sons are friends, but share a terrible secret of a horrible crime they committed - but just how much do their parents know? And what lengths will the parents go to in order to protect the boys?
Hmm. Interesting plot and some of the characters were well-drawn. But it didn't quite hang together for me - maybe something was lost in translation from the original Dutch - there was some clumsy phrasing and unconvincing dialogue occasionally. Page-turner though. This was a leaving Holland gift from Barbara, Thomas, Emma and Jules.
