The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Christopher Boone has Asperger's syndrome, and sees life in a different way to most people, but in trying to solve the curious case of the murder of next-door's dog, he sets off on a journey full of challenges.
Fantastic. Really enjoyed this (borrowed from Liz) book. Very moving and believable. (Liz was one of my house-mates at Promenade, Nottingham).

A Spot of Bother
Aging and retired couple George and Jean struggle to cope with their grown-up children's 2nd marriages/homosexuality and George begins to feel a fear of dying that leads him to take drastic action over his suspected cancer with a pair of scissors.
Excellent - very funny in places, and all the characters very real and struggling with their problems.

The Red House
A brother and sister go on holiday together with their respective families shortly after the mother died. Some family revelations with different perspectives on the same facts, and some growing up for the two sets of children.
Very good. Read during IVIG session.
