Killing Dragons
The history of mountain climbing in the Alps, with plenty of strange characters and exciting adventures, death-defying feats, and of course, death-inducing feats.
Very good. interesting material presented really well, plenty of background on the weird bunch of mostly British Victorians who invented the sport of mountaineering, although of course you had to do it in the name of science back in the early days.

Barrow's Boys
The story of the search for the North West Passage, and various other expeditions, all backed by Mr Barrow of the Admiralty.
Good adventure stories of months and years spent locked in by ice and snow in distant lands.
