A Brief History of the Age of Steam | From Newcomen's first practical beam engines to modern electricity generating steam turbines, via many many railways. | Very dull. Should have been very interesting but he seems to get bogged down in too much politics and scheming when he could be providing fascinating details of inventor's lives, or the excitement of a brand new technology. Must try not to buy books on the basis of a cool cover. | |
